Juliette – Family Support Worker

Juliette is a mum of three and brings a wealth of lived experience to her role at Home‑Start. Her youngest child is on the autistic spectrum with sensory processing difficulties, giving her first‑hand insight into the strategies, advocacy and resilience required when supporting a child with additional needs. She understands the challenges families face when navigating agencies, assessments and support systems and uses this experience to empower parents with empathy, clarity and confidence.

Juliette joined Home‑Start Colchester, Jaywick & Clacton in September 2016, first as a volunteer, then progressing into sessional work, and later into her current staff contracted role. Her journey reflects her commitment to helping families and her belief in the power of relationship‑based early support.

Before joining Home‑Start, Juliette worked for Essex County Council, promoting and advocating for healthy school meals across the county. She now feels privileged to work closely with families, helping them build on their strengths, develop new skills and create positive change. Juliette often says she feels lucky to be part of their journey  and families consistently describe her as warm, understanding and deeply supportive.       Juliette has completed extensive training relevant to early years, safeguarding, additional needs and family support, including Level 3 Forest School practitioner and relishes in outdoor learning. she also delivers Play Town a early years toddler group aimed at developing skills.

Juliette’s blend of lived experience, professional training and genuine compassion makes her an invaluable member of the Home‑Start team. She is dedicated to helping families feel heard, supported and empowered — and she is proud to make a meaningful difference every day.
