As well as our Early years support for children under 5, Home-Start CJC are also continually looking for funds to support primary school children. Home-Start CJC have delivered many projects over the years with an aim to increase skills, decrease isolation and raise primary schools children’s aspirations to achieve their goals. A key activity has been healthy eating cookery workshops, children have cooked with a qualified chef and built vital life skills around healthy eating and cooking. They have also gone on to produce a healthy eating cookery books which is still used and shared tody.
Criteria is children with limited opportunities to participate in extra curriculum activities, this could be due to low income, anxieties lack of confidence, being young carers. If barriers exist we will try to support participation. Children choose their activities which have ranged from cycling, bowling, magic, dancing, golf, tennis, football, horse-riding, sailing, swimming, coding, art to name but a few.

Children attend the activities without parents which supports independance and confidence and can often provide respite to parents. All the groups are small and staff have experience of supporting children to reach their full potential
We keep children registered for 12 months.
Once registered you will be kept informed of any funded up and coming events we are able to run.
